Instagram, under the roof of Meta, continues to work on innovations that users will like. According to recent news, the platform was said to be testing text formatting options. After this innovation that will add color to conversations, Instagram has now started testing a feature called Blend. So what will this do? Here’s all you need to know…
What will the Instagram Blend feature do?
You must have a friend on Instagram who sends you one or more funny, interesting or inspiring Reels videos every day. You might be doing this too. But with the platform’s new test feature, you can now share a short video more easily.
According to a screenshot shared by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram’s new feature called “Blend” will allow your friend to see Reels videos that are of interest to you. Thus, you will no longer need to send short videos via private message.
According to the information conveyed, this feature will function as a kind of co-discovery. For example, if you like videos about soccer, your friend will also be able to encounter such content. Likewise, if your friend likes history-related videos, you will be able to view such content.
You will need to give your permission for your friends to see Reels videos that you like. So you will have full control over this feature. This system will work in a similar way to creating a group. You will be able to invite your friend to Blend, and if they accept, you will now be exposed to Reels videos that each other like.

According to the source, the feature can be used with a maximum of two people. So, for example, if you have a group of 10 friends and you send the short videos you like directly to this group, it may not be suitable for you to use Blend.
For now, it remains unclear when Instagram will launch the Blend feature. It is estimated that the innovation in the testing phase will be announced in the coming months. Of course, it is also possible that it may not be offered at all. Because Instagram tests many features but does not release them all. In this context, it seems that there is nothing to do but wait for now.
